A true scientist must adjust their preconceived notions and theories about the world as new information emerges. Rigidity and resistance to new data hinder progress. This principle applies not just to science, but to our daily lives as well.
We must allow old ideas and habits to burn off like dead wood, making room for new growth to flourish—a perpetual state of Hormesis. Without this awareness and adaptability, we risk falling into what Albert Einstein called "insanity": doing the same thing repeatedly while expecting different results.
In light of this, I'm embarking on a journey of change. Not only am I launching my first print drop (!), but I'm also adopting new daily habits and routines which include:
Waking up early to see the sunrise
Increasing my sun exposure
A daily routine of grounding (walking barefoot whenever possible, which has made me increasingly averse to shoes)
Being more mindful of technology usage (phone turns off by 8pm, turns on at 8am)
Observing the sunset
The photographs accompanying this post were taken in Bluffton, South Carolina (where I currently reside part-time) at around 6:30 AM. Thanks to my new routine, I was gifted a beautiful foggy morning at the highest point in all of Bluffton (admittedly, it's a fairly flat area, as you might expect in South Carolina). Being able to observe new light and color due to waking up early has been a great change for my photography and I recommend others to start it as well. As an added bonus, I walked barefoot for nearly a mile to reach this spot, ensuring a full connection with my surroundings throughout the experience.
Print Drop #1
The photographs I usually end up enjoying the most are often those I capture while venturing out on my own. This is one of those moments. I particularly appreciate that these images were made while I was barefoot, carefully navigating the small growth of blackberry thorns in the valley. This physical connection to the environment adds an extra layer of intimacy to the photographic process, reinforcing the bond between myself, subject, and surroundings.

I have a few more copies of my photo-zine, “Hiding In Hudson” available! There are only 30 copies printed and I hand number and sign them. A great little collectors piece if you follow my work. I’m happy how it came out and I’m thankful for those that have picked one up already!

Hudson NY! My aunt that I just recently visited lives there! Never got to explore much there, but it looks like you did!
Cool idea about walking barefoot helping to ground yourself to your photography process! Living in Winnipeg with cold winters half the year leaves me only so much time to walk barefoot but maybe I’ll give it a go this summer! Kudos also to switching and changing things up. Love the schedule and patterns that you have set. Also gorgeous photo!
