Photography is something I really enjoy, but at times, I feel like it can only go so far when it comes to being truly "experimental."
I also dabble in graphic design, mostly for myself. I like creating things without the pressure of someone hiring me to make something specific—it’s just not how I work. My process is more like, “Let’s try this and see where it goes, because I have no idea.” It’s more fun that way, to meander and be surprised by the result. I find that approach more "artistic" than anything else. There’s a playful, child-like essence to it that resonates with me.
Recently, I’ve been returning to my roots with graphic design (very fond of the 50’s-60’s Swiss design movement), and I thought it’d be nice to share some of that here since I rarely talk about it, let alone share my process through video. It usually starts with something simple—in this case, literally three squares—and it evolves from there. Sometimes it takes 30 minutes, sometimes hours, but I lose track of time. My favorite part is working with color once the structure is in place. I can spend forever exploring colors.
I mainly use two programs: Photoshop and Dehancer. Dehancer is interesting because it’s mostly used for editing photos in an analog style, but I’ve found that after finishing a piece in Photoshop, exporting it to Dehancer lets me enhance colors and textures. I love using the grain, bloom, halation, and other unique features of the program—it’s a lot of fun.
Anyway, here are a few recent examples. I’m not sure if I should make prints of these or if anyone would be interested, so let me know if you are. I’m trying to figure out how to make some income from the things I enjoy doing, so I’m all ears.
I also livestream when I work on these, so feel free to tune in, see where it all starts, and maybe spark some conversation along the way. Bitcoin, anyone?

Hiding in Hudson
I have a few more copies of my photo-zine, “Hiding In Hudson” available! There are only 30 copies printed and I hand number and sign them. A great little collectors piece if you follow my work. I’m happy how it came out and I’m thankful for those that have picked one up already!
