It's been a long time coming, but I've finally created a new photo-zine to showcase my work! Individual prints are great, but I love putting together photo books. The last one I made was for NOICE Magazine (ISSUE N.001) about two years ago. It's crazy to think it's been that long. Now, it feels good to focus on myself and create something that truly represents me and my work.
The title I chose is "Hiding in Hudson"βit just popped into my head and stuck. My partner, Marilyn, and I took a trip to Hudson, New York, to celebrate her birthday, which coincided with the Solar Eclipse on April 8th, 2024. It was quite the coincidence. We were only there for a couple of days, but it was great to explore new places and have an excuse to create new work.
I didn't initially plan to make a zine from this trip, but I'm glad I did. Now that it's complete and I enjoyed putting it together, I'm inspired to create more zines from other trips I've taken, like to Japan, Paraguay, old tours with Vasudeva, and many other projects.
Plus, I enjoy doing a bit of graphic design work so it provides me a good bit of practice!
I'm grateful to those who helped fund this project! I hope this initial release will fund the next one.
This zine is limited to 30 copies, and as of now, about 16 remain. It's 48 pages, and the tactile nature of the outer cover is really satisfying. I'm happy with how it turned out.
Thank you for supporting my work if you've already picked up a copy! If you haven't yet, there are still a few left. I won't be making these again.
Oh, and I hand-number and sign each one myself!
